Would a couple of you wonderful people care to test out my daffodil meshes for me? So far they are working perfectly well within my game, but after rebuilding the packages about six times for my various stupidities (everything from forgetting the shadows, to trying to work out just why the slave meshes won't accept recolours) I'd like to have someone else try it in a totally different game.

The zip should contain five files, four mesh files and one (uncompressed) recolour. The meshes are master/slaved to the best of my ability and should pick up the recolour. I'd just like to know whether they a) show up as they should and b) if they look alright, as in there are no terrible graphical flaws

ETA: The shadow issue mentioned here is now fixed, thanks so much villamirabelle!

I may need something to eat, cos I didn't spot them in my catalog. I'll double check, just gotta re-save the defaults I was testing.

Found 'em! It occurred to me to look under 'plants' about ten minutes ago. They look pretty good, two of my plantsims Viewed them and nothing exploded. I'm impressed! And I kinda want some of the bunches done upright so I can plant the little suckers, but it's the time of year where one goes "Yay flowers!"

So that they look like daffodils growing, yup. At least if it's not any trouble, but they really do look nice, and would make a very pretty addition to a garden.

I've snagged them, and I'll be loading up my game shortly, so I'll have a look at them then for you. :)

They showed up fine, with no issues. :) Here's a screencap....the ones on the left seem a little dark, but perhaps it's just me? :)

Update for you: they're looking fine to me! They appear quite happily in the catalog, and there don't seem to be any glaring problems with them. My only observation is that perhaps the textures look a little dark (I'm not sure how they compare to the WFS2 originals, as I don't have them handy at the moment), but then again it could just be the lighting in my game...

You're welcome! I'm wondering if being a little dark has something to do with the way the object you have cloned reflects the light... You could maybe try playing with the reflectivity, or perhaps cloning another object as an experiment?

I don't know whether you're still working on the daffodils, but I had a sudden inspiration about the dark textures - I wonder if it might be something to do with the smoothing groups being incorrect...

If so, this post might be of some help in fixing it (assuming you are using Milkshape): http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=49789

Hehe, my turn to apologize for a slow response now! Anyway, good luck with it; I hope it solves the problem.

I was planning out booting the game up in a bit anyway, so I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm going to Nth the darkness of the textures, but it's also compounded by the lighting. They looked alright outside in the daytime, but inside under lights at night, they seemed awfully dark. And I try to light up the rooms pretty well because I take lots of story pictures.

I think the textures look nice and the mesh is good and all of that. I think the clutterers will enjoy them!
