aelia...you have a dream about the sims community, and a large wankfest within, and in your dream, you leave rather a bitchy comment.
Then you wake up with the 'oh GOD, I need to delete it because it was too bitchy, and I can't be bothered with the ensuing argument. I may or may not, even after realising that it was just a dream, checked to make sure that that journal did not exist, and that I never commented on it.
I don't even know why dream!self was commenting on that, I barely know the persons involved, nor have I ever exchanged words with them. The drama was though, entirely plausible, and I was in full agreeance with the 'mean' side.
Right. On that note, I am going to have a lovely strong coffee, and some malteasers for breakfast. :)

Ah, see I make the somewhat fatal error of say, posting a hair mesh I attempted (and trashed because damn, it failed hard. And that was before I tried to give it animations) and suddenly a number of people were all 'oh hai, we has hair mesher nao' and I'm flailing about going 'no, no you don't!' I do intend to try that again though - i want moar dreadlock meshes.
(heh, I don't have a problem with people seeing my mental fucntions. Anyone who talks to me for more than five minutes is exposed to the bizzare workings of the pile of mush in my skull. Particularly those who ha ve the misfortume to encounter me late at night/v. early morning in #gos) I'm high traffic?
I've never gotten into the editting communities, so I have no clue of the bitchiness that goes on. (Though, if it's anything like the kinda insanity that goes on on DA, then dear god!) I'd really like to get back into the story telling kinda things though. I miss doing that.
I think that 10GB pales into insignifigance next to some peoples - I have the obsessive need to have large, complete sets of everything which does no good for my harddrive space. It also does not help that I am more than content to play Maxis Match beside Enayla-esque shiney without batting an eyelid.
(I would have had a better sleep if my accursed little sister did not hold the view that if she is awake, we all have to be awake)

Sorry for taking ages to reply, I went to bed early when Fleur said she had stomach flu. I'm awful when it comes to other people's illnesses, I always end up feeling ill in sympathy. Bad mind.
The editing community is more based on being nice to your face and bitching about you behind your back. Before the explosion of gos wank (there's an image for you) most mean sekrits were editing/SCF based. If I am honest with you...I would respect certain editors more if they used their photoshop magic to make CC that everyone can use, instead of (often bizarre) pictures for everyone to fawn over, but whatever.
Aw, you should deffo try again with your hair mesh, if only to laugh at it when it goes wrong (i don't mean that horribly; sometimes I crack up with the stuff I fail to make, but maybe that's just me.) I'm not really a fan of dreads, mostly because they aren't shiny enough for my preference >;(
I used to play the same, up until recently, when I canned Maxis match/goffy/photoskinned shit to make my game exclusively grunge, neon, and prerty shiny skintones. I mostly play the game to breed, if I'm honest, and I'm a bit sadface about the fact their are no 'genetics-based' forums (in English, anyway).

I've often wondered about that in the editting community - In some I've seen (trawling through teh Flickrs for the occasional peice of hidden content in there) I've come across so many painstakingly drawn on bits of CC that I swear would have taken the same amount of time and effort and would have netted you a tonne more sycophants had you made it a 'real' piece. They puzzle me ... though that could just be the drawing based artist in me having a seizure over the anatomy fail that crops up XD
I fully intend to try again with the hair mesh - the first attempt was more a testing the waters kind of thing where I saw how hard it was, and whether I would cock up royally. It was surpisingly easy to do, the only bits that got me was the animation (which is odd, because, y'know, I am a fucking animator!) and I'm none too good at modelling from scatch, and that just takes practice. I'm mostly going to attempt dreads, a) because I have a character that has them, and I find it hilarious to fling her in game and see what hijinks she gets up to, and b) cylinders are easy to mesh and manipulate. If/when I figure this meshing gig out though, rest assured that there will be shiney. And curly. I want moar curly hair meshes too. I want curly hair.
...you play the game for breeding as well? Genetics facinate me disproportionately.
