List of Things I am Doing.

Because lists make me feel guilty, and guilt makes me get things done.

Sort of. It's the only motivation I have at the moment, I hate the low light that comes with winter.

Sims

Finish TS3 semi mohawk conversion (85%? done, just tweaking the mesh and applying Pooklet's colours)
Alien Skin(s) (70% done, finish adding spots, compile packages and write mini tutorial on how to recolour the psd)
This TS3 hair (0% done, I am merely just attempting to claim it :P If you desperately want it however and are more motivated than I, go ahead and convert it )
Rip and convert Titan Quest meshes (10% ish? Meshes and textures have been ripped, but I need to wade through the good the bad and the useless and see how many are fesable)
Other miscellaneous projects such as finishing those goddamned cut flower meshes that have been sitting around for months, a few clothing projects, sock and stocking/tights overlay boxes (I am wierd like that plus think of all the tights/no tights versions one could weed out with such a thing) and a few ridiculously ambitous projects that I shan't mention until I know if I can do them

Finding *some* form of employment (Ongoing. Had a really good interview and a batshit crazy trial day which I have to go do again sometime in the next couple of weeks hopefully because they were in the middle of moving warehouses on the day I was there so basically it meant I sat there looking confused while they bitched out tradesmen all day. )
Attempting to live somewhere else that is not my parents house (Ha. See also, winning the lottery. Stupid rental prices)
Get off arse and obtain license. (20?%. I am getting better, and the sooner I am good enough to drive on the road with other people it will make the whole 100 supervised hours a hell of a lot easier to obtain. Dear self, you have two years before brother is old enough to also be learning, get going. :P)
Purchase Harry Potter tickets for tomorrrow (they're replaying all the movies up to the release of the last, and Equally Obessesed friend and I plan to go to them all ($7 movies? hell yes I am there!)

Colour Actions Decrapified + Reference Images

Something that I have been intending to do for quite some time...

...or rather, was asked of me aaaages ago, and it's only now I've got around to doing so *blush*. It wasn't as irritating as I thought it would be, once I quit re-building them in a stupidly slow manner.

(Also it was a chance to get rid of the embarassingly stupid mess that lay beneath the surface. What the hell was I thinking with that?)

These *should* work right down to Ye Olde PS 6 as I've managed to avoid using any of the tools that changed throughout the versions, but as I no longer have any older versions to test on, this is entirely theoretical.

And even if you don't have an old version of Photoshop you should download these. I've tweaked some of the colours and hopefully burninated some of the worst pixelisation.

...from this side of the globe. Pretty sure Sydney and New Zealand beat us to it, but what the hell!

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm dragging my didn't -get-invited-to-any-parties backside back to the window and watching the local entertainment unfold - two cop cars (one with the prisoner-wagon-ey thing on the back) + the local hellspawns having one of their epic drunken parties (now with added illegal fireworks!) equals much hilarity.

In other news, I'm not dead, though incredibly glad to see the back of 2010. Oh yes.

(Even if it means I am once again unemployed. Guess January is to be the month of the jobseeker!)

I'm probably going to be taking a little break from making things - yeah yeah, other than that five month break I already took :P. I need to get my ass back into gear regarding the whole art/animation thing - I figure if I can't find a job, I will just have to make one - plus I seem to have lost my mojo sims-creation wise. I get too bogged down wanting to make everything, and then feeling that i have to share, and I actually this year want to be able to play my game. What I do make this year is actually going to be done properly, the way *I* like and at a sensible pace rather then just flinging it together and tossing it up like I usually do.

('course now that I've written that, I'll get said mojo back and start creating like mad again, making me look like a right attention whore in the process, but hey, if that's what it takes... ;) This is why I don't make New Years resolutions! )

Now if you'll excuse me, my celebratory beverage has somewhat gone to my head and I should probably head off to bed before I cease being able to spell (HA!) and type correctly and make a bigger fool of myself than usual!)

TS3 hair meshes are confusing and infuriating.

And high poly - this one is 2000ish, which *sounds* low compared to some of the horrors out there, but for what it is, it's pretty bloody high

Even so, perhaps worth trying to convert?

...you know, I really hate it when several people have invaded every forum, every tutorial and every Q&A post regarding flash scenes and go on and on and on and ON about how scenes in flash suck and how terrible they are and how you should really work on the root timeline and use movie clips instead and so on and so forth so a person can't find the answer they're looking for.

You know what I really, really fucking hate?

It's when they're right.

I've been trying to get this damned point and click 'game' working for weeks now using scenes and running into the most insane, arbitary and irritating problems.

Half an hour later after linking things to the timeline? the base programming* is done, ready for me to start animating.

*if you could call endless buttons with 'on release, goto and play scene 1 frame x' (or whatever it is) programming. I certainly don't.

(I'm actually really excited about doing this, even though I'm planning on going waaaay OTT with this one. If I can pull it off, and I think I can, it'll be a tidy little portfolio piece)

Sims related (yeah, this journal has turned from 'aelia uploads a lot of pretty coloured things' to 'aelia talks a lot about shit, promises stuff that never appears and is generally boring' Sorry about that ;) ) stuff soon, like a couple of requests I've taken on, and some of the stuff I've shown you. Now I've gotten the SS out of the way I'm free to do what I want :)

And really, there's no need to use all of them: I'm just a freak who couldn't pick the ones she liked best and had to have them all. All of the colour actions out there (ie, all of Pooklet's, plus my retro ones, plus these) do total over a hundred and that is a fucking insane amount of work.

(Not that I would complain about seeing that, but damn even I am too lazy to do it all ;) )

EDIT: I really am made of fail: You need to have a white/very pale grey base to work these off :)

ALSO, which one do you like the best? Cream frill or charcoal? There's going to be stockings added on there too, possibly with seams because I adore seamed stockings.

(First person to say both and/or the first person to mention the GLARINGLY OBVIOUS NORMALS FAULT will receive some serious hate vibes because see previous remark about TOO MANY COLOURS/it's *really* pissing me off, and the first person to ask for a boots/docs/flats/converse/whatever the fuck shoes are currently cool will be glared at and probably then catered to :P You just have to do all the copy pasta, and I'll send you the psd for that)

Toy Story 3 = <3 Just got back from it and wow :D I was kinda afraid of what would happen, and whether it would kill the first two for me, but all is good :D

(And that short :D Watching the 2D work there really kinda brings back that this is what I want to do with my life :D)

I have come to the (completely non-unique and frankly late to the party) belief that Nouk's hair meshes are only great if one desires nothing but a simple re-texture. Anything more complex than that, and everything goes to shit really quickly.

I realise that many people came to this conclusion months ago, but let me whinge :P

BRB computer shop time. >:| It is, as far as I know (and fingers crossed!!) it's just the connector bit for the second monitor, which was about thirty bucks.

... and can someone explain to me just why tinypic is suddenly in German?

EDIT: WHOOOT. It was the connector, I now have a normal screen once more, and best of all, it was only a nine dollar piece :D

Theoretically speaking...

...if someone was to have edited Nouk's floppy mohawk mesh to uh, look like it wasn't in dire need of some patented nasal delivery system (God I am sick of those ads!), and if someone didn't discover to her very great annoyance that somebody hadn't already done it (has anyone? Never seen it, or I would have eagerly obtained it) would you prefer it as a replacement for her mesh, or a new mesh? And would there be interest in a male version?

This is all totally theoretically speaking of course ;)

To anyone and everyone who has commented on something of mine recently, and I have utterly failed to reply to, thank you, and sorry for being such a slackarse. I will attempt to get onto that tonight/tomorrow morning.

Stuff soon, I have a pooklet'd senate hair I (eventually) did as a request for pineapple on GoS (if you're on LJ/DW Pineapple, sorry for being a slackarse ;) ) As much as I like Senate's clothes, I hate his hair. The mapping is terrible and unfixable.

Also, previews of some pretty awesome...er, in my totally humble opinon and all, stuff soon.

Polycount preferences

...So, in a shirt mesh, which would you prefer, one mesh around about 3000ish (probably lower) or two weighing in at about 1600 ish each. (there's some overlap that can be killed in combining them) ??

...just experimenting with just how far this whole texture overlapping thing can be carried. I have got a rather awesome idea that I'm hoping can be pulled off, but it involves rather a lot of alpha parts :D
