So, I'm sitting at the table this morning, doing bugger all - killing time once again by reading a book, and dad and I hear a thump in my room. I just assume that it's the wind knocking things off my drawers again, but dad goes in to have a look. Two minutes later he tells me to come take a look at something.

It wasn't the wind. It's a freaking snake. Admittedly my first thought was 'arlight, who put the fucking rubber snake in my room', then the damn thing MOVES.

Cue screaming from the sister, yell of delight from my bother, and me grabbing the camera. Dad tries to remove it from the room with the broom, but it decides that behind my bookcase is a great place to hide. Dad goes downstairs and spends the next ten minutes banging on the ceiling to get it to come back out. It does, and promptly goes under my bed. Bloody fool idea, it's dangerous under there! It decides this is a bad idea, and comes out the otherside to get behind yet another chest of drawers.

To make a long story short, it took half an hour to traverse the oh, six metres between my bedroom and the backdoor, with the snake getting under every single piece of furniture between. Good thing he was just a tree snake and not something nasty.

Eep! It's a snake!

I love your reaction is to run for the camera...that would probably be mine too. I missed a nice big huntsman and a mouse because I buried my camera under piles of things :(

Good you got it out of your house though!

XD, well like I said in GoS chat, I rather like things of the reptilian variety, so long as they aren't, y'know, gonna kill me XD

Huntsman, I get the broom. Those things need to quit lurking on my ceiling!

That is a seriously huge snake. Living in Washington, the ONLY snake I've seen outside the zoo had to have been less than 12 inches.

Wow, too cold for them there? We get them frequently here but that's the first time one's ended up upstairs in the house!

Badger?

You mean you didn't take the snake in and keep it as a pet? D:
Sad, Kate. I'm disappointed.

XD, I'd prefer a lizard to be honest, and there's a shittonne down the back hill.

Or a frog. I wanna big green tree frog as a pet.

My brother has 2 turtles, but I think I've already told you. A pet snake would be cool, though, but I wouldn't get one. I have a pet rat in mind and those wouldn't mix well. :P
