I have meshed an object. It appears in game, and I managed to fix the wtf-worthy alpha issue that was making me headdesk around 6pm, and without screaming for help and flinging myself on the mercy of the first competent person I saw online XD

This makes me more happy then I should be.

That said, I think it's a little too big perhaps? I am not very well aquainted with that which are daffodils (they don't grow well up here, I think we only managed one, one year back when I was twelve) so thus I am not exactly sure just how big they are.

(Apologies for the dodgy hand-holding there, but I didn't have any cc in game)

So, thoughts? Suggestions? Halp!? XD

Now to try and turn this bastard into a master/slave object thing. Wish me luck :D

Looking great! I think perhaps it is a little large at the moment though; if you aim for something that is about half the size of a Sim's hand, that should be about right I think (call me nuts if you like, but I've just gone out in the garden to inspect the size of our daffodils).

In general, daffodils are very similar in plant size to your average tulip. There are several meshes with tulips in game, if you wanted to compare to those. For height, stem size, leaf size, etc.

The blossom seems a little large for your average daffodil, but it's not cartoonishly big. Someone probably has bred one that large. So, if you still kinda like how it looks, it might not be a bad option...I just wouldn't make it the only daffodil.

You could always release it for Daffodil Day :) It's on 27th August this year. Just saying :) But I'm sure you'll get it finished in time for the theme.

It looks great. I love it. I agree that the blossom could be a bit smaller, maybe about the size of a sim's palm (ie. hand sans fingers), as has already been suggested.

They don't grow much here, either, and my garden is full of Aussie natives rather than European garden flowers. I don't see them much, other than on Daffodil Day so it's hard for me to say just how big it should be, but palm-size should be about right.

Ours is full of both, depending on what will grow where - the native trees and plants seem to adore the front yard, but will turn up their toes and die at the mere sight of the back yard whereas the roses and the like love the back but hate the front. It, like the rest of this house, is somewhat bizzare XD

(That's something to make though, if I can pull it off - there are not nearly enough aussie plants for this game :D)

Yes, I'm in Sydney. Most of the people on LJ/DW who live in Australia seem to be either in Qld or SA.

I don't know how well other plants would fare in our garden. It was full of natives when we bought the house and we've kept it that way. My family reckons I should plant some edible stuff, maybe start a herb garden. I have no idea if anything other than the natives would even grow here.
