Random IRL request

Utterly random, but I might just get lucky - would anyone out there know where I might obtain a parasol <i>frame</i>? Preferably from a company from which I might open a wholesale account, but anywhere is bloody welcome. I've been having a lot of fun crocheting delicate lacy-type things lately, but I'm not really into delicate, lacy shawls or the like.

However I *do* like lacy parasols, and why buy something when I can (theoretically) make it?

I would be incredibly grateful if someone could point me in the right direction?

Funny, I had the same issue last year trying to find an umbrella frame, for a group college project (Steampunk lady costume, hell yes). Unfortunately the only things that ping back on searches are garden umbrella frames, or bog standard brollies :/ So unless you want to look like a pixie...

Though, just a thought; there are people on Etsy who make parasols in the same way you are intending to. Maybe if you PM'd a few of them, they might be able to point you in the direction of a stockist?

On my (failed) googlings, the only things that I found that were not garden umbrellas or bog standard brollies, were more people looking for just the frames! Seems there's a number of people looking for them.

I'll have to try that - I think a number of them buy cheap umbrellas and strip them (wish they had prettier handles though) and I'm knda nervous about asking, lest I come across as someone trying to encroach on their territory!

Oooooh, there was some pretty stuff in there, thanks for the link <3. I couldn't see any frames for sale, but someone on there said something about looking through costume/cosplay associations which I didn't think of.
