Colour Actions Decrapified + Reference Images

Something that I have been intending to do for quite some time...

...or rather, was asked of me aaaages ago, and it's only now I've got around to doing so *blush*. It wasn't as irritating as I thought it would be, once I quit re-building them in a stupidly slow manner.

(Also it was a chance to get rid of the embarassingly stupid mess that lay beneath the surface. What the hell was I thinking with that?)

These *should* work right down to Ye Olde PS 6 as I've managed to avoid using any of the tools that changed throughout the versions, but as I no longer have any older versions to test on, this is entirely theoretical.

And even if you don't have an old version of Photoshop you should download these. I've tweaked some of the colours and hopefully burninated some of the worst pixelisation.

Retro Colours, should (And this version was tested last I checked) work in all versions

Download

Autumn Colours - works in all versions

From memory, Purple Haze, Denim Blue, Forest, Chocolate, Rust and Indigo have been tweaked to hopefully pixelate less. YMMV, but they look better to me. Gold and Burnt Orange are slightly brighter and 'cleaner' looking, while Rose is no longer ugly.

Download

Jewel Colours - and Lonesome for neatness of image. A lot of subtle tweaks here but Black Berry and Black Plum (especially) should no longer pixelate like crazy.

Jewels - PS CS3 and above

Jewels - All versions (Some subtle changes in earlier actions, everthing after say, Dutch is identical

Lonesome - All versions

Nothing to see here, move along. I was making a bunch of things in natural, undyed colours (or at least I was stalking skeins of Cascade Eco yarn and cursing my bank balance) and found I was trying to replicate the same colours over, so it was easier to do this. Perhaps someone else might find it useful. Looks especially good with Aquilegia's linen overlay. Should work in all versions

Download

*disappears back into the land of sleep, family issues and the never-suceeding quest for a job* I am extremely thankful for awesome friends, beer and the fun that can be obtained when you combine these with terrible, terrible anime adaptations of one of my favourite book series from when I was younger.

I promise to surface again soon, hopefully bearing gifts of more belated (hair) requests and other assorted goodies :D

I hope everything gets better and you're able to get a job soon. My boyfriend is in the same situation and it is really frustrating.

Thanks so much for the actions, the "eco naturals" will be really abused for wood tones in my game :D

Ah, noooo, I spent the last week making recolours of Pinket's glasses conversions using the original versions of your colour actions, and just finished them yesterday - I'm too lazy to do them again now though! :D

Never mind, these will be most useful in future - thank you for updating and sharing them!

And good luck in the job-hunting - I hope something turns up for you soon.

Ah new versions! I couldn't get your jewel and autumn tones to work properly with my Dutch version of PS CS3 (even after redoing each step, it just couldn't identify some, for some reason) but I'll have to try again now.

The eco natural colours look gorgeous. If I can get all of these to work, I may have to finally learn to do clothing, so that I can put these colours on a bunch of medieval stuff.

Fingers crossed that you find a job soon!

These are beautiful. If I ever get around to learning how to make something I'll definitely use them!

I hope RL gets better for ya soon! At least on the work/family front! Friends and beer sounds awesome!:D

Lovely! Thanks so much for the swatches for reference, if nothing else. I also adore the Eco colors; some of them are gorgeous.

Good luck irl. :)
